Many university students and students in the Workshop for Emergent Design ask me how they can improve their skills as programmers.
There are two little books by Giovanni Jervis that every student, programmer, manager, should read.
These are the books:
- Giovanni Jervis, “Contro il relativismo” (Against Relativism) – Useful for understanding the concept of personal responsibility and diffusing situations where it would be convenient to dump responsibilities onto others
- Giovanni Jervis, “Pensare dritto, pensare storto” (Straight Thinking, Crooked Thinking) – Useful to observe errors in thinking.
Even though the author is well-known internationally, in a cursory internet search these books seem to have only been published in Italian. If anyone knows anything more, please let me know.
Enjoy the read!
